ethical dilemma #2

When your unsolicited opinion is requested on some mediocre art, is it better to:

  1. just ignore it and hope it’ll go away? (this could take the guise of offering banal platitudes or generalities, etc.)
  2. offer constructive criticism, hoping even the most misguided can change with honest feedback?
  3. go for blood, because this world is too nice and lovely to spoil it with something this horrifyingly mind-numbingly bad, and if they can’t take it they shouldn’t have asked?

  1. stubpeople answered: I have yet to come up with a solution for this riddle - I usually just stare at the floor and hope the subject changes itself.
  2. imh-hau answered: 3 tends to backfire. 2 tends to be taken as 3. But I have to question your usage of unsolicited.
  3. tomorrowsghosts answered: I end up in this position often. If you have to ask the question, go constructive. The as box is too small to say all I’d on this subject!:P
